Afrakan History of Hypnosis
Imhotep
Hypnosis has long been utilized by people or African descent
since the beginning of time. Although the term "Hypnosis"
itself is of Greek Origin. Named after Hypnos the Greek God
of Sleep, its practice as a science can be traced to Imhotep
the Ancient (KMT) Egyptian God of Medicine.
Imhotep who was architect and chief vizier/physician of King
Djoser, had become revered in ancient Greece and Rome as
their god of healing. He is accredited for using
psychotherapeutic methods of "incubation" or "temple
sleep". In these centers or temples various incantations
and religious rituals were conducted to prepare the ill for
various medical and therapeutic procedures. Such temples
and/or similar practices are still found throughout Africa.
Afrakan Storytelling
If you can trace the roots of African storytelling, from the
Americas to the Indies, throughout Asia and on the
motherland, then you will find that the art of hypnosis or
specifically the use of trance has been prevalent in African
society when Western Society was yet a concept in the
Macrowomb of this Omniverse. If you've ever had the honor
of hearing an African storyteller and you've been captivated
and in awe, then you have indeed been hypnotized. If you've
ever watched the faces of the audience and noticed the
fixation of their eyes on the storyteller as they watched
the performance in fascination, then you understand that
hypnosis is an art that is indigenous to the African
continent.
African storytelling has been utilized for various
purposes. The griot (storyteller), held the role of
historian and teacher. Through storytelling people learned
the morals and the values of the culture. Society was
shaped and molded thru the use of word, song and dance and
this was a key element in the making of every great African
civilization.

Spring Cleaning: A Simple springtime
cleanse
Winter is a time period of slow activity and deep inward
thinking. It is a time when we experience lower levels of
both light and physical activity. It is as if we have been
in a period of hibernation, and now after emerging from a
long nights sleep, we need to get our bodies moving and
start the process of cleansing
This is why we call spring a time for cleaning. It is when
we open the windows and let in fresh air. We dust away the
cobwebs and clear away the items that have been accumulating
during the winter. In this time, we prepare for new life
as we clear out the toxins that may have accumulated in the
body. Detoxifying and fasting are of great importance.
Changing our diet is also necessary during springtime. A
simple diet of fruits and vegetables is more preferable over
grains, meat and diary.
A short, three-day fast can be beneficial for some, but for
most people a short (3-7 day) juice "fast" using raw fruit
or vegetable juices works best.
For additional information on cleansing, consult a local
herb specialist.
Here’s a simple seven-day detox plan.
However, use only under professional supervision.
Also, avoid fasting if you are taking prescription drugs; if
you have hypoglycemia, diabetes, or another medical
condition; or if you feel dizzy, nauseated, or experience
cramps.
Day one and two- Liquid only. Drink only pure spring
or filtered water with lemon squeezed into it, herbal teas,
and diluted fruit juices (half water, half juice). It's a
good idea to drink at least eight glasses of water or other
fluids daily during this period--and all the time.
Days three through seven, add brown rice, fruits, and
vegetables. Try to stick with organic produce.
Vegetables--such broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower,
kale, and turnips--are particularly effective at activating
promoting the natural detoxification process.
Did you Know?
Your home environment mirrors the state of your physical,
mental, emotional and spiritual health. Take a look around.
What do you think your home is saying about you right now?
If your home has lots of clutter and lacks order, then your
energy field will also be less than radiant. By clearing out
the clutter and giving your house a nice cleanse, you will
release lots of stagnant energy and your outlook will begin
to brighten as well.
Here’s what we recommend
1. Discard accumulated junk that you no longer use and is
unwanted.. All that stuff pulls our energy down.
2. Use an old fashioned water and vinegar cleanse on
everything from counters to windows. You can add cinnamon
and water for a sweet loving smell.
3. Open up the windows and let the air circulate
4. Add a purifying incense or aromatherapy oil to facilitate
cleansing and to usher in the smells and energy of those
things in which you wish to manifest.
5. Watch your thoughts when you clean: If you clean with
hatred and resentment you put that vibration into your
house.
